Coca-Cola Company
The Coca-Cola Company (initiated by Coca-Cola Enterprises) took on an internal philanthropic initiative for youth called The Camp Coca-Cola Foundation.
They engaged NPL early in the process to help design, test and implement a model program to serve the fuller community under their leadership.

Our Role
6-Year Engagement
The NPL team worked with the former Chief Human Resources Officer at Coca-Cola Enterprises and other leaders in the Company to define success then create the right business model and performance metrics to achieve desired program outcomes. In the process, we helped onboard and trained governing boards in affiliate cities such as Los Angeles, Dallas and Atlanta.
3-Year engagement
Once the program’s proof of concept was tested, The Coca-Cola Company wanted each city affiliate to incorporate as separate nonprofit organizations under an umbrella entity called The C5 Youth Foundation, also a separate nonprofit organization. At that time, NPL was re-engaged to help transition the enterprise from an internal Coke-program to community-owned programs.
Our team worked with the newly created C5 National Youth Foundation board to design best practices for board building, business planning, and major-gift fundraising. We also worked with local chapters such as Dallas, and Boston. Los Angeles and Atlanta on fundraising initiatives, short films, and branding events.
“Throughout a multiple-year engagement from 2004 to 2010, NPL offered invaluable personal coaching to me and my team both at the national office and in our local affiliates. With their support and expertise, we were able to accelerate our growth and avoid mistakes that other startups encounter. NPL provided essential tools to not only manage our growth but to also ensure we were compliant with nonprofit best practices around governance, financial management, business planning, and major-gift fundraising.”
